Our Impact

Club and Public Projects

These are a few examples of past projects

Lunches Donated to the Community Outreach Task Force's Marty Bus

Club members decorated lunch bags and inspirational notes, and assembled lunches for the clients of the Marty Bus, which serves the unhoused in our community.

Providing Winter Comfort

Club members ordered scarves and mittens which were distributed throughout our community to assist the unhoused during the coldest time of the year.

Community Closet Donation Drives

Club members sponsored clothing drives to help those in need. This included creating posters and  announcements to advertise the drive to the student body and their families, as well as sorting the clothing before donating it to the United Way’s Community Closet.

Laundry Kits for Community Closet

While the Community Closet of the United Way provides clothes to those in need, oftentimes the ability to wash those clothes can have an economic barrier. Club members ordered soap and dryer sheets, and assembled laundry packs which were handed out to visitors of the Community Closet by the United Way of Marathon County.

Birthday Bash Bags

Club members decorated bags and filled them with all of the things necessary for a birthday celebration—cake mix, frosting, decorations, candles, plates, napkins and gifts. The bags were distributed to children in our local Big Brothers Big Sisters program.

Playing Bingo with Local Seniors

Club members and their advisors visited local senior living centers and enjoyed time getting to know, and playing bingo with the residents.

Donations From Our Board

Fill a Backpack Fill a Need

A monetary donation was made to the Workplace Volunteer Council, which provides free, new, backpacks with school supplies to low-income children in Marathon County entering 4K through 8th grade.

Seventeen Pillows

Monetary donations have been made to this organization to help fulfill its mission. The Seventeen Pillows Project was created to give high school foster youth a senior photo session, something most

miss out on. This opportunity helped the youth see their value, raises their confidence and shows them that the community is here to help!

Beds for Kids

Monetary donations have been made to this nonprofit, whose mission is to improve the health and well-being of children who are currently sleeping on the floor by gifting them a bed that will help them feel more dignified.

Never Forgotten Honor Flight Blanket Project

Sponsored and led by the Be Amazing Organization, this project is a collaborative effort between our board members, the members of the Be Amazing clubs, the United Way’s Emerging Leaders, and community volunteers. Beginning in 2021, and continuing every year since, everyone worked together to purchase, cut and tie approximately 110 blankets to present to veterans flying on the Never Forgotten Honor Flight each spring. To date, approximately 440 blankets have been donated to honor our veterans.

Mission of Mercy

A monetary sponsorship was provided to The Mission of Mercy which works to help low-income Wausau area residents address their oral health care needs. Approximately 700 patients were served at this two-day temporary dental clinic.

The Hagar House

Gift card donations were made to enable the residents to provide holiday gifts for their families. The Hagar House Inc. is a faith-based nonprofit entity founded in Wausau, WI in June of 2021, and is committed to providing support to single mothers in the greater Wausau area.
